WSFS Financial Corporation Announces Executive Leadership Promotions
Lisa Brubaker will lead technology and operations as EVP and Chief Technology Officer. Peggy Eddens’ role expands to EVP and Chief Associate and Customer Experience Officer.
Lisa Brubaker is the new Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at WSFS Financial Corporation, the parent company of WSFS Bank. Additionally, WSFS’ Peggy Eddens has assumed expanded responsibilities to oversee the growing role of the Company’s customer experience team as Executive Vice President and Chief Associate and Customer Experience Officer. Ms. Brubaker’s and Ms. Eddens’ new roles and responsibilities became effective May 1, 2018. Ms. Brubaker succeeds Jim Mazarakis who has left the Company to pursue other opportunities.

Calvin B. Taylor Bank has announced the following promotions: Hanna Ford has been promoted to Senior Customer Service Associate. Hanna began her employment with the bank in September of 2013. She serves on the marketing and training committees, is a participant in the professional development group and trains new CSA’s. She currently works at the 20th Street, Ocean City branch location. Sarah Matthews has been promoted to Senior Customer Service Associate. Sarah began her employment with the bank in September of 2011. She serves on the bank’s Fiscally Fit and training committees and is a participant in the professional development group. National Call to Discuss Proposed Regulatory Capital Rule for CECL May 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. (EST) 
The OCC, FDIC, and the FRB will host an interagency conference call on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 1:00 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST) to review the Proposed Current Expected Credit Losses (CECL) Capital Rule released on April 17, 2018. Topics to be addressed during the call include the proposed regulatory capital treatment of expected credit losses under CECL, mechanics for the proposed CECL transition provision for regulatory capital purposes, and proposed new disclosure requirements for certain institutions. Michael Gordon Speaks at NY Bar Association Trust and Estates Law Meeting
On Saturday, May 5, 2018, Michael Gordon spoke at the 2018 New York State Bar Association Trusts and Estates Law Section Spring Meeting in Sea Island, Georgia. The title of his presentation was “Dynasty Trusts: Nothing Lasts Forever.” The presentation addressed the use of dynasty trusts in light of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017.

Involvement in “Hallmark” Debt Collection Activities Not Required for “Meaningful Participation” under FDCPA, Ninth Circuit Rules
A company did not violate the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) by creating a false impression that it was meaningfully involved in a medical center’s debt collection, even though it “did not engage in many of the hallmark activities of debt collection,” the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit recently ruled.
